What is Tesane?

Tea vs Tisane

What's the difference? Aren't all teas the same?
Technically, tea is an infusion of leaves from the Camellia sinensis or Camellia sinensis assamica plant with water. Tea bushes are grown at high elevation (up to 4900ft) of tropical to subtropical regions around the world including China, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kenya and more. They are categorized by leaf processing and commonly by color into white, green, oolong, black, yellow & pu-errh.
A tisane is any herbal tea made of plant material (flowers, roots, leaves, berries etc) and steeped or decocted with water to make an infusion. For example, chamomile, mint, rooibos, peppermint, dandelion root, lavender, coconut, goji berries, mate, guayusa etc.

Meaning of 'Tesane'

"Tesaneis a play on words in the Spanish language for 'te sane' or "[I] healed you," and the English word tisane, where "I" is represented by the infusion or essence made from the herb of choice being consumed. Sometimes, all our bodies need are a little push in the right direction. Teas and herbal tisanes can be a wonderful addition to your daily routine to support your body in reaching optimal health.

"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot..." - Bruce Lee
